Description: Ginkgo Biloba is a large and dioecious tree, belonging to the Ginkgoaceae family. The female trees are pointed and pyramid-shaped and the male trees are broad and sparer. Its bark is ash to dark brown in color and has rough grooves and its distinctive, fan-shaped leaves are bright green in spring and summer, and turn golden yellow in autumn. The leaves of the Ginkgo are harvested in fall as they start to turn yellow because that is when the flavonoid content is the highest.

Culinary Uses: To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Ginkgo Leaf, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.
Medicinal Uses: Ginko is valued as a supportive during the aging process. It's considered to increase mental acuity, improve blood circulation, and improve oxygen flow to the brain.
Precautions and Adverse Reactions: The use of Ginkgo may potentiate pharmaceutical MAO inhibitors.
