Description:
Woodruff is a perennial herb, belonging to the Rubiaceae family. It is a clump forming plant, with a square stem that is slender and smooth ,with star like groups of bright green leaves. Its small and fragrant funnel shaped white flowers, bloom in loose clusters above the stem. Woodruff woodruff carries a distinctive perfume and is used for sachets and snuffs.

Culinary Uses:
Woodruff tea has been said to be mild and sweet, with a woodsy taste, resembling Darjeeling tea.
To make a tea, infuse 1 teaspoon Woodruff Herb in 1 covered cup of boiling water and steep for 15 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Woodruff is known to be a mild sedative that helps regulate heartbeat. The whole herb is used as an infusion to strengthen the stomach and remove obstructions from the biliary system.
