Description:
White Sage is a hardy perennial evergreen shrub, belonging to the Labiateae (Lamiaceae) family. It has has small white flowers and dense tiny soft white hairs on its highly aromatic leaves and stems. White sage is considered sacred and is used to make smudge sticks, that when burned, are believed to cleanse a space of any evil spirits or negative energies that may be present.

Culinary Uses:
Sage enhances pork, lamb, meats, sausages, beans, and in poultry and game stuffings. Chopped leaves flavor salads, pickles, and cheese.

Medicinal Uses:
Tea cooked from White Sage leaves can be taken internally as a poison oak remedy. It is also used as an external treatment, and areas affected by poison oak are generously bathed in the same solution.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
Sage should not to be used during pregnancy. Not recommended for long term use.
