Description:
Uva Ursi, also known as Bearberry, ia a small shrub, belonging to the Ericaceae family. It has many branched and trailing stems that are short and woody, covered with a pale brown bark, scaling off in patches, and form thick masses. The leaves are of a leathery texture, glossy and evergreen. The white with red liped flowers are in small and closely crowded clusters of three to fifteen flowers together.

Uva Ursi strengthens and tones the urinary tract. It is especially useful for kidney infections, bladder infections, and inflammatory disease of the urinary tract. It is used as a diabetes remedy for excessive sugar in the blood. It is used for postpartum women to return the womb to its natural size, as well as to prevent infection of the womb after childbirth.
