Description:
Red Root, known as New Jersey Tea, is hardy perennial deciduous shrub, belonging to the Rhamnaceae family. It has a large root that is covered with reddish brown bark, and it is red inside. Stems that rise from the root cluster with alternate, egg-shaped dull green leaves, and clusters of fragrant small white flowers that appear on the ends of the branches.
