Description:
Poke is a glabrous perennial plant, belonging to the Phytolaccaceae family. It has a root that is large and fleshy, grooved hollow stem with alternate leaves, and the flowers have a white calyx with no corolla. The fruit is a deep purple berry, covering the stem in clusters and resembling blackberries.
