Description:
Pipsissewa is a small perennial flowering plant, belonging to the Pyrolaceae family. It has a long running and partly underground stem, shining evergreen toothed leaves of a somewhat leathery texture, and clusters of white-pinkish fragrant flowers nodding from the top of the stem.

Medicinal Uses:
Pipsissewa improves kidney and liver function by helping the body eliminate excess fluids. The hydroquinine content has an antiseptic effect upon the genito-urinary system.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
Do not be alarmed if using Pipsessewa gives the urine a greenish color. Pipsissewa cause contact dermatitis in some people.
