Description:
Passion Flower is a creeping perennial vine, belonging to the Passifloraceae family. It has a hairy climbing vine, leaves having three to five lobes with finely serrated edges, and solitary sweet scented white flowers with a purple crown in the center.

Culinary Uses:
To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Passion Flower Leaf, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Passion Flower is used to help the body reduce anxiety, hysteria and nervousness by nourishing the nervous system. It known to help with pain, insomnia, asthma and attention deficit disorder, menopause, and headaches. Its narcotic properties cause it to be used in diarrhoea and dysentery.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
Large doses may cause nausea and vomiting. Avoid large doses during pregnancy.
