Description:
Lemon Verbena is a perennial but deciduous shrub belonging to the Verbenaceae family. It has narrow leaves, generally in sets of three, on a light colored woody stem, and spikes of tiny pale pink-lilac flowers. Its leaves, even when lightly brushed against, give off an almost overpowering scent of lemons.

Culinary Uses:
Lemon Verbena can be added to jams, stuffing, desserts, and fruit dishes. It is also used to flavor oils and vinegars and used in wine and liqueurs.
To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 2 teaspoon of Lemon Verbena leaf, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Lemon Verbena is known to be used as a stomachic and antispasmodic in dyspepsia. It also helps with indigestion and flatulence, stimulating the skin and the stomach. Lemon Verbena is a mild sedative and has antipyretic properties.
