Description:
Kelp is a species of large, brown algae, belonging to the Phaeophyceae family, that is a type of seaweed. Kelp anchors itself to rocky surfaces via tentacle-like roots and grows a slender stalk with long, leaf-like blades. When kelp is harvested, it is cut, dried, then ground into powder. Kelp has a concentrated source of minerals, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and one of the highest sources of iodine known.

Culinary Uses:
