Description:
Hawthorne Leaves and Flowers come from the English Hawthorn, a deciduous small tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. It has hard wood, thorny branches with glossy yellow-green leaves, white flowers that look like roses with each blossom possessing a single seed vessel producing a separate fruit, which when ripe is a brilliant red berry.

Culinary Uses:
To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Hawthorne Leaf & Flowers, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Hawthorn is known for its strong and powerful effect on the circulatory system and helps to regulates high & low blood pressure and slowly break down cholesterol and fat deposits. It is effective for curing insomnia, for treating nervousness, and aids in relieving emotional stress. Hawthorn is also used to prevent miscarriage, useful in a decoction to cure sore throats, a useful diuretic in dropsy and kidney troubles, and can be used to strengthen joint lining, collagen and spinal discs.
