Description:
White American Ginseng, is a member of the Araliaceae family, and a close relative of Asian Ginseng (Panax Ginseng). It is a North Americian perennial herb, distinguished by its dark green leaves, simple erect stem bearing three leaves, cluster bright of red berries, and large pale yellow-brown colored, fleshy root with some small rootlets existing upon the lower portion. According to traditional Chinese medicine’s philosphy of opposites, White American Ginseng is a 'cool' or 'yin' Ginseng used to treat hot symptoms such as stress, insomnia, palpitations, and headache, whereas Asian Panax Ginseng is 'hot' or 'yang' Ginseng and is used to treat cold diseases. White American Ginseng is considered a less 'stimulating' member of the Ginseng family.
