Description:
Ginseng Leaf is from the Asian Panax Ginseng, a member of the Araliaceae family, and a close relative of White American Ginseng (Panax Quinquefolia). It is a Chinese perennial herb, distinguished by its dark green leaves, smooth round stem bearing three to five thin leaves, cluster bright of red berries, and large translucent pale yellow-brown colored, fleshy root with some small rootlets existing upon the lower portion. According to traditional Chinese medicine’s philosphy of opposites, White American Ginseng is a 'cool' or 'yin' Ginseng used to treat hot symptoms such as stress, insomnia, palpitations, and headache, whereas Asian Panax Ginseng is 'hot' or 'yang' Ginseng and is used to treat cold diseases. Asian Ginseng is considered a more 'stimulating' member of the Ginseng family. Ginseng leaf contains the similar active ingredients with pharmacological functions as the root.

Ginseng leaf can be added to chicken stock and cooked into a soups. Ginseng is also added to candies, soda and liqueurs.To make tea, add 1 or 2 tsp. of crushed Ginseng leaf to 8 oz. of boiling water. Let the tea boil for five to 10 minutes, allowing the water to absorb the Ginseng's nutrients..
