Culinary Uses: Whole Flax Seeds can be eaten raw or cooked. They can be added to cereals, breads, yogurt, and applesauce or other fruit dishes.
Medicinal Uses: Flax Seed is beneficial to the cardiovascular system, as well as the immune and nervous systems. Whole Flax Seed, when crushed, makes a useful poultice, either alone or used with mustard, that allays irritation and pain and promotes suppuration in ulceration and superficial or deep-seated inflammation. Flax Seed is also a purgative for lungs, and gallstone disorders and eating the seed intact will aid in constipation.
