Description:
Epazote Herb, known as Wormseed, an annual belonging to the Chenopodiaceae family. It is a small plant with a branched, reddish stem with alternate-linear leaves and numerous small yellowish-green flowers that grow in numerous spikes. The whole plant gives off a pleasant fragrance.

Culinary Uses:
Epazote is said to reduce the gas-producing qualities of beans. It also can be used to flavor soup, corn and shellfish.

Medicinal Uses:
Epazote can be used as a wash for fungal infections such as athlete's foot and ringworm.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
Large doses of Epazote may be toxic and can cause hearing loss, incontinence, vertigo, sweating and possible death.
