In addition to being a popular herbal tea, elder flowers are often used in potpourri to add texture.

Culinary Uses: Elder Flowers have long been used for making many homemade drinks and preserves that are great favorites. Rehydrate to make the old fashioned Elderberry jam and jellies. To make a tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried Elder Flowers in 1 cup of boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes.
Medicinal Uses: Elder Flowers can help rid the body cells of toxins, increase circulation and purify the blood. Elder flowers mixed with mint and yarrow blossoms are excellent internal cleansers when fighting flu and colds. A tea of the elder flowers and sassafras is a remedy for acne.
