Description:
Chaparral is a strong-scented, olive-green bush, belonging to the Zygophyllaceae family. It takes its name from the area in which it grows, the desert regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico known as the chaparral ecosystem.

Culinary Uses:
To make a tea, steep 1/2 teaspoon of dried Chaparral leaf in 1 cup of boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Chaparral Leaf is known to be a cleanser and blood purifier and aids in the treatment of acne, boils and skin infections. It also has been used for venereal disease, arthritis, rheumatism, tuberculosis, colds, and stomach disorders.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
Chapparal is not for use in large amounts by persons with pre-existing kidney disease and liver conditions, such as hepatitis and cirrhosis.
