Description:
Celery Seed comes from the dried fruit (technically half-fruits) of the Apium Graveolens plant, a member of the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae) family. This plant is related to, but not the same as the vegetable celery plant. The seeds are very small, oval-shaped and brown with ridges. Celery Seed has an aroma and flavor similar in taste to fresh celery, Celery seed contains vitamins A, B-complex, C, and about 18% protein and are an important ingredient in mixed spices and salt-free seasonings.

Celery Seed can be used it to treat liver diseases, bronchitis, fever and flatulence. Celery seed tea is said to promote rest and sleep and can help soothe the nerves and relieve pain. Consuming celery seed in food aids the digestion of protein.
