Description:
The Catnip plant is an erect and rugged perennial belonging to the Labiateae (Lamiaceae) family and, like its relatives, possesses the same square stems and branches. The flowers are small, white (occasionally pink, blue or lilac) flowers ith crimson dots. The plant is strongly scented with a mint-like odor,and the leaves and flowering tops have a pleasant, mint-like aroma and strong, minty, warm, pungent, bitter taste. Catnip is well-loved and intoxicates cats and repels rats and fleas.
