Description:
Bayberry Root Bark is an herb obtained from the Bayberry evergreen shrub, a member of the Myricaceae family and native to the eastern part of the United States.

Culinary Uses:
To make a tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried Bayberry root bark in 1 cup of boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses:
Bayberry is an excellent blood purifier and detoxifier. Bayberry, taken in small doses, increases the vitality of your total body systems, improving circulation. Tea made of Bayberry is good as a gargle for sore throat and tonsillitis and is an excellent wash for the gums. Bayberry stimulates lymphatic drainage and encourages the healing of mucus membranes. It is excellent to use in the early stages of infection, as it contains myricitrin, which exhibitis antibiotic activity against a wide range of bacteria.
