Description:
Bancha Twig Tea, known as Kukicha Twig Tea and originally known as Peasants Drink, is made from the leaf stems and fine twigs of the tea plant Camella Sinensis, belonging to the Theaceae family. It contains the least caffeine among Japanese teas. Kukicha has a mildly nutty, and slightly creamy sweet flavor.

Culinary Uses:
To make a tea, place 1 1/2 tablespoon of Bancha Twig Tea in a cup, add boiling water and steep for 2 minutes (oversteeping will result in a bitter and unsavoury brew).

Medicinal Uses:
Kukicha is effective in neutralizing the body's acid levels and it is rich in natural tannins.
