Description:
Arnica is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the Asteracea Family. Its dark brown rhizome is dark brown bears brittle wiry rootlets on the under surface, and leaves form a flat rosette, from the centre of which rises a flower stalk bearing orange-yellow flowers daisy-like flowers. The flowers are said to contain more Arnicin than the other parts of the plant.

Medicinal Uses:
Arnica is used topically (externally) for a wide range of conditions, including bruises, sprains, muscle aches, wound healing, superficial phlebitis, rheumatic pain, inflammation from insect bites, and swelling due to fractures.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:
POISON. Arnica is for external use only as it can cause serious side effects when taken internally. Arnica may cause allergic dermatitis with extended use or in sensitive persons. Do not use on open wounds or broken skin. Not to be used during pregnancy.
